Be an Angel

Weingarten Basilica - Germany
“You are an Angel” in my life.  It is a statement, many might have heard from friends and dear ones.  From childhood, there are many options for Catholic to hear about Angels from the stories of mother or read in the story books.  Many times many might have seen dreams where they are playing with Angels.  All most all the ancient Churches have the images and statues of Angles.  Angels holding with Holy Eucharist, Holy Bible, Musical instruments and so on.  All these helped us to create an image of an Angel in our life.  Yes, today the Angels have become a sign protection, happiness and messenger in our life.

Basilica S. Maria Degli Angeli e Dei Martiri - Rome
Like the St. Peter and Paul Church at Steinhausen, the most beautiful Village Church in the world, and many other churches have 365 Angles images or statues in it.  It reminds us that, there is an Angel with us in our day today life.  Each day there is an Angel to protect and guide us, to bring peace and good news, to share the love God and make us happy.  It is a great advantage and blessing to each one of us. Does this teaches us something?  Each one is invited to be an Angel.  We are called to be an Angel in our life, where ever we are. Being an Angel is a responsible life with different responsibilities.

An Angel has two types of responsibility; internal and external.  The example for an external responsibility can be seen in the book of Daniel 10.21 where the Archangel St. Michael is in a battle with the fallen angels.  As an example for the internal responsibility, in the Gospel of Luke 1: 26:5, the Archangel St. Gabriel appears as a messenger.  At the same time, the Archangel St. Raphael was a Divine healer in the life of Tobias, seen in Tob. 12: 14f.  So our responsibility is to be a warrior who fights against the evil or fallen situations of our life, be the messenger of the Lord to the other and be the healer to the other.
